Reply. DaBluePanda • 12 yr. ago. As the others have said it is simply the dirt walls that are preventing the spawning and it being valid. Housing can only be valid if you place the walls and and bottom/sides/roof (as far as I've noticed). Good luck fixing it and enjoy Terraria.

A row of diagonal blocks does Not count as enclosed (the gaps between the blocks actually count as open) but a staircase/zigzag pattern hammered to look smooth Does count.
