I read the forum and replaced everything that I could find that would be causing the issue. Fan, radiator (went moshimoto), radiator tubes, thermostat (replaced with ripp), water pump, coolant, air filter, sc oil, engine oil.Ok, while I was at the Easter Jeep Safari this year my engine started to randomly idle roughly. My engine normally idles around 675 rpm +/- about 25 rpm. I noticed that the rpm would pick up to about 720 then it suddenly drops off to about 500 rpm and when it does it shakes the whole jeep. this only happens when I'm stopped at stop lights/ …Jeep Wrangler temp gauge keeps fluxing up and down. The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.

Put new Mopar thermostat in, and the JK still runs at 220 on average. Took JK to my other mechanic. He did some research and found that drilling a 1/8" hole in thermostat will allow Jeep to run cooler. Decided to drill hole. The Jeep is still running hot. About 220. Normally when the fan comes on after a few seconds/minutes of starting. There is either air in the coolant lines, or a stuck thermostat. There is a bleeder valve on the top of the thermostat. You may have to remove the air intake to get at it, then use a screw driver to turn the bleeder valve to release the air until the cooler starts spitting out.
