Hi everyone. I'm replaying Skyrim again, and for some reason this time I can't seem to get the College of Winterhold quests working properly. I finished the Under Saarthal part, went back to talk to the Arch Mage, but then the game doesn't move onto the next quest "Hitting the Books".The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Xbox 360) Under saarthal quest- cant get through door? Okay so I have stuck on this for a while. I have passed the part where you need to break the door with the amulet with a spell. Followed tolfdir through the tombs. Saw the vision. Fought the two daugers. Went through the dauger tomb. So I've been doing the Under Saarthal quest and once ive gotten to the second pillar puzzle, the gate doesnt seem to be working. I switched all of the pillars to the correct position but the gate still doesnt open. I also looked up the pillar combination on the wiki and it says i have it right. Mystery solved. You will probably not be able to get through unless it is an official quest. The necessary animal combination is in the same room on the walls before you get to the pillars. If I remember correctly, back to front, left to right, the combination is Snake, Whale, Whale, Eagle. The rotation of the pillars themselves is the trick.
