Patients are a big problem for me. I have done literally everything i can think of, even creating a burrow that is literally occupied by a hospital next to a well right next to a kitchen/dining room with stockpiles of food and alcohol, assigned both children and orderlies to the burrow, and most of my patients still die of dehydration.

Yeah, I honestly prefer it to both the previous game's system (obviously) and Dwarf Therapist. Additionally, if you (not you lol, but those struggling with the new system) are really worried about some unskilled dorf using up all your resources, I'd recommend assigning a singular skilled dwarf to a given workshop and putting your high-quality requests into that one alone.
