The car, purchased 5/31/11 and with 46K miles now, has stranded my wife away from home, for the second time in less than three years (sigh). With no warning, car would not stay running for even one second after starting, while sitting in a shopping center parking lot.

THAT WIRE needs to be HOT when the FP is supposed to be running. If it's not, check the 15A fuse and/or the relay. If it is, then check the gray wire at the FP, or as close as you can.
